We’ve officially made it to the first day of fall! If the equinox wasn’t an indication, then the dropping temperatures and fall events in St. Mary’s County certainly should be. Being a St. Mary’s County resident has benefits all year long, but fall is a truly great time to live here. Fun Fall Events
- Riverside Wine Festival @ Sotterly Plantation – Who doesn’t like a good wine festival? Even if you’re just going to be the DD, there are lots of things to do to keep you busy. This year marks the 12th annual Riverside wine Festival, where local wineries can show off their best wines and you can enjoy a nice fall day in the country. Check out bands on Saturday and Sunday and even enjoy some local art! October 4th & 5th.
- Cornfield Maze @ Bowles Farm – If you’re looking for something a little bit more family friendly, check out the corn maze and pumpkin farm at Bowles Farm. There’s plenty to do for the whole family, including a petting zoo, corn box, pumpkin picking, wagon rides, and more. Bring your friends and family out on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-6 PM. September 27-Oct 26.
- St. Mary’s County Oyster Festival @ St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds – Do you like oysters? You’ve come to the right place! The 48th annual oyster festival will be at the fairgrounds the weekend of October 18th & 19th. There is an oyster shucking championship, music, a cook off, and more. Bring the whole family and get in for just 5 bucks. Food is pay as you go. Enjoy some of the best in Maryland seafood while spending a nice fall day outdoors! Gates are open from 10 AM to 6 PM. October 18th & 19th.
